The Belle was new to Southdown in 1971, and used as a national holidays coach. She was converted in the early 1980’s to “The Southdown Diplomat”, and afforded luxuries such as tables & an on-board bathroom. Later, in 1986, this bus was repainted in her umber & green livery, and re-branded yet again as “Brighton Belle”. Once retired, the Belle was sold to a coach company in Kent, then spent some time up in Glasgow, before coming south again to a preservationist in Gloucester, and finally landing at Seaford & District in 2014.

Since we’ve had her, she’s been re-floored, re-carpeted, had her 22 seat arrangement reinstated, and is now ready for hire once more.
